We aren't really Vegas people. We don't gamble or drink and the Strip is not our scene in any way shape or form. So, why would we celebrate Kent's birthday in Vegas? Well, it is his 50th and we needed to do something special. But, especially because our dear friends, The Taylors, live there. We've known them for about 22 years and love to spend time together. We also invited Ryan and Sarah down to spend the weekend with us!
Here are the highlights.
1. Breakfast at IHOP and a super cute waitress bringing Kent a sundae at 9am in the morning!

2. M & M World!
Before breakfast on Saturday, we were in our hotel pouring over brochures to try and figure out how Kent wanted to spend his day. He said golfing was out because he just wanted to be with his family and the Taylors. We saw everything the city had to offer and Kent finally spied what he wanted to do. Yep, 4 stories of M & Ms!

3. A slight detour from the birthday festivities. Some of our other dear friends, The Tuckers, have a son on a mission here in Vegas. Elder Tucker and his companion are serving very close to where the Taylors live, and we just couldn't miss this chance to see him and treat he and his companion to lunch. We met at Chipotle and I sent Julie pictures and video throughout our encounter so she could feel the joy and see her son in real time. This is, of course, every missionary mothers' dream come true!
4. Dinner at The Claim Jumper and then on to see Penn and Teller. I don't have any pictures of dinner, but it was delicious!
5. Coming home a little early because Troy was sick all weekend and just persevered and didn't complain. Poor kid ended up having pneumonia!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENT! Here's to another 50!!!
