killing Elder Pace off, since he will be done with his mission in about 6 weeks. I'm willing to bet that I'll die out here in Ridgeway which is fine by me!
This week was awesome. The other elders had 2 baptisms two days ago, and the sisters baptized Damien. The Clack kids are now members of the Ward. They are awesome. We're excited to see how they do now. Austin
and Matthew will both be receiving the priesthood the week after general conference. Our basketball night was really successful Last Tuesday. We had 6 investigators, 3 less actives, and 5 active youth come play. We had so many people that we had to take all of the chairs out and put them in the hallway so that we could use both courts hahaha. We had a tournament. My team won all 4 games of course. I had Jayden (our investigator who is on date for the 17th). He's only 11 but dang can that kid ball. Then I had Bubba Jenkins and his dad Tim
on my team. I had 4 3's in a row one game it was so fun :)
Jayden is our most solid investigator right now. He lives right across the street from the church and he has been really great to teach and get to know. He's a lot like Rashaun, one of my converts from Lexington. He has a great understanding of the gospel and he's talked to us a lot about how he's excited for his baptism because he knows it will help him be who he needs to be at home. He's the only man in the house because his dad has been gone since he was a little kid, and he's the only boy in his family. I'm really excited for him. We've been doing some serious teaching with him. Almost every day!
Last night we had a big stake meeting with all the missionaries in the zone, all the bishops, Ward mission leaders, Ward missionaries, and public affairs representatives. President Reynolds (Stake President) and President Turner gave a presentation on this thing called the Idaho Initiative. It's this program they implemented in Idaho and it caused a 29% baptism increase in result. It's a simple plan where each Ward focuses on 3 subsets of membership categories in the church. Part member families, prospective elders, and families with unbaptized children 9-17. It seemed really great and I think it will make Ridgeway progress in missionary work even better then it is now! Our district did really well for the month. We turned out to be the biggest contributor to the zone with 4/7 baptisms. Pretty great week!
I think that's all I have for now! Jayden should be progressing well and we are finding a few more people to teach through the members this week. Basketball night has been a great contributor too because we have so many different people come and then we are able to teach all of them afterwards!
Love y'all,
Elder Sean Bills
