Troy's district meet was stellar. He could not have swum any better. All his hard work over the short high school season paid off. Here's a breakdown of his accomplishments at the meet:

A little explanation before you watch his record breaking 100 back! When you are the fastest going into the final at the Peoria District Champs, they let you choose the song for the march to the blocks. Troy was very excited about this and called his big brother Ryan for advice on what song to choose. I overheard their conversation and Ryan advised him to decide on the message he wanted to send when choosing the song. They discussed many songs including "The Final Countdown," and "Gun Means Goodnight."

Troy continues to surprise us as he is becoming a man. He is intense, competitive, and serious about a lot of things, but also has an awesome sense of humor! He told all the guys in his final about the song and asked them to have some fun with him. This was a highlight for his coaches, who just loved this surprise march out on his way to capturing the district title. Also, the announcer is one of Troy's friends from his club team. We appreciated the excitement when he announced Troy's name!
