This week was full of ups and downs but nothing to worry about much. We had our transfer calls on Saturday night and no one in our district is leaving except for Elder Pace, Elder Lee, and Elder Wing. So they are going to be pink washing their area. We'll have sisters in Ridgeway now. So I'm going to be pretty lonely now since there aren't another set of elders to hang out with. Oh well! And I also got a call from President on Saturday morning and he said "Elder Bills I'm calling you to train a brand spanking new, English speaking elder" hahaha. So yeah I will be training a shiny new missionary for the last twelve weeks in Ridgeway. I'm excited for the opportunity and it's crazy to think that I'm at the exact same point in the mission as Elder Welty when he was called to train me.
Other than that, there isn't too much to talk about. Jayden was all set in stone for Saturday until his mom called it off two days before. There is a situation there and so we will have to work with her in order for her to feel like Jayden is ready for his baptism. He was interviewed by our zone leaders and so he was totally set for this
Saturday. It was a little heart breaking for Elder Pace because it was going to be his last baptism, but Jayden will be baptized soon. I feel bad that I always would report home that he was getting baptized, and that it kept getting pushed back, but we will get him to the end of this process one day! I'm not too down about it. Everything happens for a reason and the Lord works for my benefit in mysterious ways out here in the work. I have full confidence that we will see 10x the blessings if we stay diligent, faithful, and trusting.
Church was great yesterday. We had Parker and his two brothers, Bubba and Eli come to church. Parker is on date for the 21st and we set every lesson that we need to give him in order for him to be baptized. Bubba is already a member and he has been a great support for Parker. Eli is 6 and so he is just along for the ride in the lessons and church for a little while. He loves it though. They are a crazy trio hahaha. They are really energetic too.
This week was good for me. I learned a lot about patience and I'm really sad to see all 3 of the elders I've been working with for so long leave. But I guess it's time for something new to happen, and i have the opportunity to go all out for the last stretch of my mission. I haven't trained anyone before, and so I'm excited for a new
assignment. They released me as DL and so it seems like the total time of 14 months as a District Leader on my mission will be over. I am going to miss doing that job and all of the time that I got to spend helping missionaries in their work and learning how I can be a better missionary also. All good things come to an end though. Elder Snelson is our District Leader now and so I'm happy with that because he's one of my favorite people ever! This transfer should be a blast.
Here's my answers to your questions Momma!
1. I have learned to have some extra charity recently and to have a greater desire to recognize how much other people need the gospel.
2. My favorite thing about being a missionary is just being a missionary. I'm so used to it and so I like what I do everyday.
Love y'all,
Elder Sean Bills
