The news about Private Ryan and Mary have been discouraging, but I am
glad that they both have the gospel in their lives to help them. Mary
can always change and Private Ryan is going to receive the rest of
what he needs to receive in the Spirit World. You know, I've read a
lot on that subject on my mission from different discourses, books,
and scriptures. I am confident and have a full testimony that Private
Ryan is resting "from all cares and sorrows". I wrote my thoughts on
him to he Brenchleys and they are sending it out to his mom along
with other things other missionaries have said.
We weren't able to see Johnette and Luke this week unfortunately. We
just couldn't get an appointment. I kept in touch throughout the week
to remind them to read and see how they were and they seem like
they're doing well. Our focus has been on the Ward mostly this week.
We are planning a big activity with the youth soon! We are going to
get members who are returned missionaries to set a booth up about
their mission, and then the youth can go around and learn about where
people have served. Then they will have an activity that relates to
them at the booth.
For example, Brother Freeman served in Seoul, South Korea. He loves
ping pong so we might have him play ping pong with the youth. We play
at his house on p day and also he had us play a game at dinner when I
was on exchanges with Elder Lee. He spanked me. That guy can spin it
like no other.
All the news about home is CRAZY. I can't believe uncle John got to
throw the first pitch!! I probably would've thrown it way off I
would've been nervous hahaha. That is so awesome. I'm glad you are
relaxing with the family. I can't wait to relax with yall soon! My
sisters go home in a few weeks it goes by way too quick!...
To answer your questions:
1. I can't think of a spiritual experience this week. I've been in
a lot of thought though. I usually think a lot about stuff before I
pray about it, so that I can make sure I have it all laid out in my
mind. I feel like I will have a good experience this next week through
praying and thinking more.
2. The funniest thing this week will be in the video I made with elder
Lee at the church yesterday when we had to do some online training
hahahah
3. The hardest thing this week was probably just staying motivated. I
lost motivation around Thursday and I had to pick it back up quick.
It's hard to slump down a little and then renew myself to get back up.
I can do it, and usually my worries about the area will help me do
that but it's hard sometimes.
4. I CAUGHT A BLACK WIDOW SPIDER AND NAMED IT SCARLETT JOHANSEN.
5. I like how Elder Pace remembers things that we need to do when I
forget. Like I'll be scheduling an appointment and he'll remind me
that we already had a prior commitment that is more important.
6. My goal..... I need to set a new one and do it. Ask me next week
and I'll have one
7. I have been studying a lot of D&C and I'm reading the Book of
Mormon over again. But one thing I'm looking forward to is a book a
member let me borrow by Brad Wilcox. I remember him at an efy I went
to and I know he has a lot of good stuff out there. I'm going to read
it in my free time and I think it will be really good for me. Can't
remember the name of the book. I'll let you know next week.
Love,
Elder Sean Bills
PS SISTER DA ROSA JUST EMAILED ME WITH GREAT NEWS.
The Fowlers are a family I worked with my whole time in Lexington and they are on fire and Mona the director of women's shelter that we did all those service projects at is taking the lessons. I'm so happy to hear this.
