I'm so glad that your guys' week was awesome! I wish I could have been at the wedding so badly! The picture from Jake was awesome. I'm glad he is getting schooling for what he wants to do. He's such an awesome dude. I can't wait to hang out with him one day. I thought about marriage and covenants the other day actually. I was reading something by P. Pratt about marriage and life in eternity and it made me realize how important
marriage and keeping my covenants are. I've known that they're important before, but I had another view on it that helped me know that more. Without marriage we can't live with God again and keeping those covenants mean a whole lot more than we realize. The Supreme Court decision thing is a big topic out here and so that event made me think about that.
Being DL again felt pretty normal for me. We have three brand new missionaries in our district so I definitely am trying to make this district a good place for them to learn and have the best time of their life! DDM this week will be great for everyone. I planned to talk about white washing with everyone since they all are doing it. This is my 3rd time doing it here so I hope I can give them some tips from what I've learned. I'm going to give them assignments so that they can all make sure they are 100% organized and effective at getting to know the members while finding people to teach.
The new elders are Elder Lee and Elder Robinson! Elder Root trained Elder Lee and so he and I knew each other already. He is a fireball of fun hahaha. Elder Robinson is new. He's still a little in shock but he is doing great. He's pretty cool. Elder Lee just got done being a ZL for 9 months. He knows how missionary work should go and so everything in this Ward will start getting better since we have two great teammates.
We moved into the cabin on Wednesday! I'll send pictures of it. It's awesome.
We also had our lesson with Johnette and her husband Luke. Luke has been pretty anti since he went Less Active, but he was super cool with us. He talked a ton and also committed to read a chapter of the Book of Mormon with his wife. Apparently he has never done that before. It was a great lesson.
We also set up 6 lessons with members so we can get to know them and also find people to teach through them! I'm way stoked for this week. Things are changing.
The IPad is still great for teaching and having things to read. I still like to read my normal scriptures and Preach My Gospel during studies. I finished the Book of Mormon again a little bit ago and so I've started it over again. I've mostly been studying other books that were allowed to read in my free time though. I started Parley P
Pratt's auto bio again and finished Jesus The Christ for the third time recently. One cool thing I've done for studies is go to chapter 6 in PMG (Christlike attributes) and pull quotes from this big quote book I have that I found in my first area. I write my favorite ones down next to each attribute it applies to. Here is my favorite one. I put it next to diligence.
"Adversity is the midwife of genius"
I have to give a talk this Sunday on diligence in Sacrament so I hope it goes well.
Love y'all!
