This week seemed like it lasted a long time, but Elder Pace and I are starting to soak everything in. We did a lot of service with the other Elders at Brother Hasty's. He is building his house himself so we did a lot of construction work for him. We put up almost all of the framing for the walls. It took about all day Friday and some of Saturday, but we were able to help him get his house up faster than he could have all by himself. It was pretty fun putting all of the walls and windows together. I definitely liked it.
We had our meeting with Elder Christofferson too! That was really great. He opened most of it up for a Q&A session and there were a lot of good questions asked. Even better answers were given by him. He was really inspiring and I got a lot of guidance from him. He was funny too. He made the whole chapel laugh countless times. I've never been able to meet an apostle personally or hear him that close before so it was a cool experience. You can definitely tell that he was a man who listened to the Spirit and truly cared about what we all were doing as missionaries. He said a great thing about prayer. He said that we should always wait for Heavenly Father to come and be present before we pray. I've done that and it's been great. It helps me have a conversation easier in prayer.
There is a lot of stuff that we are going to have to do with the ward out here. We don't have anyone to teach and it seems that we aren't going to be able to find anyone through our own efforts. We dedicated a a day to knocking to see if we could find some potentials or have a lesson with someone and we only talked to one person the whole time. There isn't any density in the population here and so it's not very effective to find through that way. Brother Patotzka, the Elder's Quorum President, has been working really closely with us so that we can implement a lot of stuff with Brother Hansen. It's going to take a lot to get this all done but we are going to take it week by week, member by member and build their testimonies up so that they can work with us more often and be more excited about missionary work!
I've been in a lot of deep thought this entire week on what we are going to do and I've been praying as much as I've been thinking as well. I think that we will be able to help out this ward if we try our best and have a lot of faith. I worry about how we are going to have things to do every day in this place, but we are doing what we can with what we have and hope that it will build.
This week was a good week to analyze and I'm excited to put a lot of things into action this next week! We get our IPads tomorrow too! I'm way excited for that. It will be something that can help us and others.
Hope everyone has a great week!
Love Y'all!
