1. Tell us about the last miracle you witnessed…When was the last time you saw an answer to prayer?
The last miracle I saw would probably have to be all of the members getting involved with us the past couple of weeks. They've always been really involved but lately it has been way more and I remember I was sitting there talking to some and i distinctly thought about how happy it made me. I always pray for the members and for their help and that's been answered multiple times.
2. Do you do a lot of service in your area? What service projects have you done recently?
We do a ton of service. There is a women's shelter that we serve at all the time as a district. we are doing some service this Thursday there. We;re going to mow the big yard, clean inside, and some other things. We've done a ton of yard work, painting, and other stuff there. They used to never talk to the missionaries or members of our church until we started doing service there awhile back. Now they love us!
3. What’s the scariest thing that has happened to you so far where you have felt protected as a missionary?
Scariest thing would have to be this one day where Elder Welty and I went to knock on this trailer and there was a HUGE rottweiler sleeping on the porch and we just stared at it and had to walk off the porch without making any noise so it wouldn't wake up and kill us. That was super sketchy. I feel protected because I haven't been hit by a car on my bike. yet. The driving here is so bad.
4. Have you laughed really hard recently? What happened to make you laugh?
I laugh all the time. Elder Jeffs and I goof off at home and we laugh really hard together sometimes.
It was so awesome to talk with y'all!!! It definitely boosted me for the rest of the transfer!
Thanks for all of the encouragement, Dad, and that scripture reference (Alma 29:1-3,8) I've read it many times on my mission for this reason haha. It's always helped me a lot. I still struggle with not getting frustrated on the fact that people have their agency and they always have a choice to listen or not. It's probably because throughout my whole life all of my success has been based on how much work I put into things. So whenever I didn't succeed very well I knew I didn't put much effort in and deserved those results. But on a mission you can put the most effort that you can and you can still have 0 lessons or no success at all. I'm fine without having success at times because that's what happens when you work with other people all the time. When a time like this comes I find comfort in my study time and I try my best and try to have a good attitude all the time. When something goes bad I'll usually just take time and think about it silently for awhile and get frustrated for a few minutes, but then I move on and I feel better. Studying, prayer, and thought always help me gain inspiration and help from Heavenly Father.
Everything will go well this week. I'm looking forward to see what happens. Having a P day has been good for me. And talking with y'all yesterday! That was awesome!
