1. None of the Elders in our district are being transferred at all. Even Elder Jeffs and Elder Huntsman. They'll be together for 7 and a half months which is one of the longest anyone has been together in the mission haha. Elder Smith and I are staying together too.
2. They had to close our Sister's area. On Wednesday there are 17 Sisters going home and now we don't have enough sisters to keep all of the sister areas open. So we will be taking over the whole ward starting Wednesday. We've been having a ton of pass off lessons with the sisters and so we've been pretty busy. Our area is bigger now and we have double of what we already were doing. It's sad to see the sisters leave because it's been a huge help having 4 missionaries in the ward, but that's just what happens. They have closed over 20 areas the past 3 transfers and they all have been sister areas.
So yeah this week has been busy. I'm kind of excited to have all of this extra work to do. It'll make this transfer fly by so fast. I honestly thought that i was going to be leaving, but when we found out that they were taking the sisters out, I kind of knew that I wouldn't be leaving this time. That means I'll be here for 9 months!!! Time flies. I'm glad I can still be here. The members have been the best I've ever gotten to serve with yet. Working with them has taught me so much and I've been able to have great relationships with all of them.
So now in our district we will only have the Lake Murray Sisters. The Gilbert Sisters are being taken out too.
I was so surprised that all of the Elders here are staying. We all hang out a ton and I guess we haven't done anything wrong enough to be separated hahahaha :)
Miriam, Larry, Logan, and Janet are all doing pretty well. They weren't at church because of Spring break, but we had visits with them and they are still going pretty strong. The Shavers are having a rough time, but we are still working with them with Sister Da Rosa. She has been the biggest help with them. She helps us out so much it is ridiculous how much she does!
This week was a little crazy but I still had a good time. I hope that everyone had a great week this week!
Missionary work has been such a big blessing to me and I'm excited that I still get to do this for awhile out here.
(I was sick and couldn't attend church this weekend so I asked Sean to share about his Sunday and what he does to focus on the Savior when he takes the sacrament)
At church this week we went over the Atonement of Christ in Gospel Principles. It ended up being really good. The sisters taught it and had a cool diagram to help everyone understand. Usually during sacrament I pray and ask for help on things, thank Heavenly Father for things, and reflect on how I did this week personally and look at what I can do better. I usually read Hymn #335 Brightly Beams Our Father's Mercy during the sacrament. For some reason I like it a lot and it's a good analogy to the gospel and missionary work. Those are what usually help me focus on the Savior.
Here is a picture of the district from this transfer. It'll be the last one showing we were the biggest district in the mission :(
Elder Sean Bills
Top Row: Elder Robison, Garrett, Me, Smith, Huntsman, and Jeffs
Bottom Row: Sister Webb, Latham, Soctomah, Williams, Millett, and Jorgensen.
Sister Webb, Latham, and Millett are being transferred due to their area being closed, and Sister Jorgensen goes home on Wednesday. Sister Soctomah is also being transferred and so there have been alot of changes with the sisters in our district haha.
