Miriam went through a lot this past week with her aunt that was dying and with her kids telling her how she shouldn't follow through with her decision to get baptized. She's understood that the opposition has come because she is trying to improve her life and live like Christ better, and she is still determined to get baptized! She will be interviewed tomorrow or Wednesday and then her baptism will go through on Saturday! I'm really excited for her. Please pray for her so that she may not experience so much adversity before her baptism this week. She is a great lady and she will get through her problems really soon.
Elder Bassett was transferred to Summerville on Wedensday. My new companion is Elder Smith! He and Elder Bassett switched places. Elder Smith was in Summerville for about 8 months. He's been out only a few months less than me. He's from Rio Rancho, New Mexico. It has been a total blast being with him so far. We have been having way too much fun for our own good haha. He and I get along awesome.
He hurt his ankle pretty bad on Monday, but it's been healing and we've been getting work done fine with it. He has a doctor appointment today and he should be fine. Another cool thing about him is that he is going to BYUH after his mission!!!! I literally have only met 2 missionaries that go there and we had the best luck ever to be put together. We are definitely going to have a great time together now and after our missions.
It's been really great to work with Elder Smith. He and I are in complete agreement with all of the work we do. We have been thoroughly planning and working hard to find more investigators. We've already come up with a lot of good ideas to find more people to teach.
Thanks for the quote, Dad. I have gained a lot of light on my mission. I wish I could have gained more growing up but I think that it was my fault that I didn't do that. I should have wanted to gain a testimony more when I was younger. I do know that through missionary work and the gospel that it all has been made up and I can start fresh and gain more happiness every day!
I hope Elder Bassett is doing well in his new area. His new companion is Elder Huston who was here in Gilbert before. I already miss having him around and change can be a little weird, but Elder Smith and I are going to have a great time together! I am stoked for this transfer.
I hope everyone had a great week this week!
