Glorious
There are times when you might feel aimless.
And can't see the places where you belong.
But you will find that there is a purpose.
It's been there within you all along.
And when you're near it, you can almost hear it.
It's like a symphony,
Just keep listening.
And pretty soon you'll start
To figure out your part.
Everyone plays a piece.
And there are melodies...
In each one of us.
Oh, it's glorious.
You will know how to let it ring out.
As you discover who you are.
Others around you will start to wake up
To the sounds that are in their hearts.
It's so amazing what we're all creating.
It's like a symphony,
Just keep listening.
And pretty soon you'll start
To figure out your part.
Everyone plays a pice
And there are melodies...
In each one of us.
Oh, it's glorious.
And as you feel the notes build,
You will see.
It's like a symphony,
Just keep listening.
And pretty soon you'll start
To figure out your part.
Everyone plays a piece.
And there are melodies...
In each one of us.
Oh, it's glorious.
Sean is truly figuring out the part of his own melody and as he does, others are listening and figuring out theirs too. Then as we combine our melodies, it becomes a great symphony of love and faith.
It's glorious!

Hey everyone,
I had a pretty great week this week. Everything has been going pretty smoothly here in Lexington and Elder Root and I are just having a good time doing everything every day. We all just got done playing basketball at the church and so P-day has been pretty fun so far too.
There's a lot that happened this week too. First off we got to get in contact with Logan and Janet. Logan is a member but he hasn't been active since he was 13 and his wife Janet isn't a member. After going over there a couple of times, they both expressed to us that Janet wanted to get baptized and that they wanted to start going to church so that they can start and raise their family. They're a really awesome couple and it's been really great getting to know them. Logan can talk about anything for hours and it's funny to hear all of the stories that he's told us whenever we go over there. They thought a lot together about a date and they decided that Janet is going to get baptized on October 25th, so that was really great to see and to help out with. Elder Root had a hard time having success here in the last transfer and so seeing some progress since his last companion has left has helped him and us out a lot. We're both really happy with what's going on.
This weekend we got to go to Fort Jackson again too! We had a great Sunday there this week. Probably the best that I'll have there. There weren't any baptisms this week, but we found a bunch of people this Sunday to teach. In fact we all put a total of 22 people on date for baptism, and around 12 or a little more are getting baptized on this next Sunday! It's blowing my mind on how many people are so accepting of The Gospel and I don't think there are very many places in the world that have as many humble and dedicated people in one room than Fort Jackson does.
One great example of that is an experience I had while I was there. I was teaching Pvt. Bowvu. He's from Ghana and he has been taking the lessons and coming to church every week for the past few weeks. I taught him pretty much all of the standards and commandments that he was supposed to know and wants to follow before he was baptized too. When I was talking to him about the word of wisdom he was a little confused about why he had to follow it and it surprised him to know that it was actually a commandment, but when I showed him a scripture about the blessings and the promises God gives us from following it, he just nodded his head and basically agreed to what it said. I was kind of shocked because it's never that easy to just have someone understand it all immediately after just reading a few verses out (at least with every other person I've taught) and so I just asked him "Do you think that this is something from God that he wants you to do?" and he immediately just went, "Well I just read it right there so I know it is and I'm going to follow it so that I can follow what God wants for me". I was pretty much just blown away at how humble he was to follow something he barely understood, but he understood that it came from God and he had no problem with it at all after that.
Teaching at Fort Jackson is just one of the craziest things that I've done here on my mission. I'm baffled at the attitude of all of the soldiers and their amazing willingness to follow something they believe in and the desire to look for truth and change when they find it. It's amazing. You'll look around the chapel and you'll see an entire class going on in one spot, other soldiers praying in other spots, soldiers giving each other blessings for strength in a certain corner, and then all over the place missionaries teaching 3 or more people all by themselves. It's just the coolest place I've ever been to and it's strengthened my faith so much to see all of these people coming together so that they can become better, serve each other, and gain faith. That's what The Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about and the happiness and unity I see all around me is one of the greatest things that I'll ever see.
Anyway, that's pretty much my week. The only other thing that happened was that they had a tri-ward cookout on Friday and we had our investigators come and everyone had a great time at it. The members here are really awesome and they are really connected with one another and I'm looking forward to being with them more.
I hope that everyone had a great week!
Love
Elder Sean Bills
