The package you sent was awesome too. I play around with that bouncy ball all the time and everyone in the apartment liked the party bags that you put in there! I really liked it, thanks mom I really appreciated it :)
Teaching is going really great. Pam is solid. We had another lesson with her on Saturday and she told us an experience that she had at work. She said her boss had heard that she was going to be baptized into our church because at her work alot of her and her co workers like to talk about their faiths and things like that (it's actually common in the South haha) and she said that her boss came up to her and tried to convince her that our church didn't believe in Christ and that we had strange beliefs and that she absolutely can't get baptized into our church. She also said her boss said she had a video that they watch at their church about Mormons and that she would bring it to her to watch to convince her otherwise. Well Pam told us how terrible and anxious she felt after hearing that, she knew that we believed in Christ and she knew that her daughter (who's in our ward) was a part of this church also and it bothered her a lot. She told us how she immediately recognized that the way her boss spoke to her and made her feel was not from God, and that it made her feel terrible. I read 1 Timothy 1:7 with her, "For God has not given us the Spirit of fear, but of love, of peace, and of a sound mind" and she recognized how she felt that when she had called her daughter right after talking with her boss, and also reading the Book of Mormon. She even showed how she opened up to a random page and she highlighted the 5 instances where the word "Messiah" and "Christ" showed up haha. She also said that she prayed more and is still solid in her decision and knows this is what God wants for her. She is really solid and I couldn't ask for a better investigator.
also to answer your questions:
1. I felt the spirit the most this week during the weekend. A member of the ward, Sister West actually died of cancer this past week on the 2nd. There was a funeral at the church and all 4 of us went to it. I felt really sad for the whole ward but the happiness that was in the meeting and the comfort of the Spirit was definitely there for everyone to feel. Brother West and his family has taken it so well because of the knowledge that they have of the gospel and about where Sister West is right now. She's in a state of peace and rest, waiting for the wonderful day of the Resurrection. It was a beautiful service and I had a great experience seeing the Gospel pull people out of their misery and into the light of happiness.
2. My favorite thing about Elder Bowen is probably the fact that he's about as funny as I am. We joke all the time and it never gets old. Also that we both teach really well together. We haven't had a single problem teaching together and it makes us teach powerfully and simply.
3. I laughed the hardest this week when I took the bottle of silly string I got in my package and sprayed it all over Elder Leavitt while he was in the bathroom! haha
Love you,
Elder Bills
