I am 20!!!!!
Your missionary is doing great. We had another baptism in the district! And Pam is on date to be baptized on the 20th of this month! She's practically golden and is 100% committed to being baptized. She's been looking at the church for several years and I can tell she's made the decision to follow Christ and start a new leaf. I've been setting a few goals with myself lately and I've been keeping them and everything has been going a lot better for me. I feel a little happier and positive because of it and it's been great!
Zone Conference was awesome. There were a lot of great trainings and I took a lot of notes and thought about them a lot this past week. My teaching has been a lot better because of the trainings given and I'm really grateful for them. President Turner was awesome too. He talked a lot about the mission goal of baptisms. The original goal for baptisms set by President Holm this year was 1000 baptisms and President Turner said he thought a lot about it and has looked at the history of our mission, prayed, and wanted us to stretch to reach a slightly more realistic goal for baptisms this year (we have pretty much gotten 600 every year the past few years). He set the goal of 720 baptisms for the fiscal year and thought it was a great goal to be set. I think it is too. I think it was inspired of God and I'm really excited to be a part of that goal. The best part is that I've already contributed with that goal since it started August 1st! (Mary) and my district has had 5 baptisms so far since I've gotten here. I know numbers don't mean everything but the thought that I am over these great missionaries that have helped 5 individuals make the best commitment to follow Christ in these past 2 and a half months is humbling and touching to know. Those are 5 people that have changed for the better and have made a special commitment to God to follow Him to the end. It's just a great thought.
And lastly here is some testimony from yours truly: This week I would want to testify on the power of diligence. I've been studying it a ton this week and it's showed me how I can always be consistent and positive in all situations every day. It's helped me realize when I'm burning out and need to re commit myself to certain things so that I can always change for the better and stay diligent in teaching, finding, and following Christ. Christ was the most diligent person that I know of. He never gave up half way through his life whenever it was hard. He bore my trials and struggles and sins DILIGENTLY and he didn't finish atoning for anyone's sins until the very last drop of sadness and sorrow had hit the ground of the garden of Gethsemane. He stayed diligent to save us all because of the eternal and powerful love that he has for all of us. He really is the Savior of the world and if it wasn't for his diligence I would not be able to be truly happy in life all by myself. I know that he lives and that he will come again to help us make the next step in our eternal progression. We never need to fear life or feel alone when we know we have a Savior who has the capacity to know what we're going through and love us more than we know.
