This week has been legit! There's been so many things happening that I don't even know where to start. I can tell that my prayers were answered and that I'm going to be very successful in these next few weeks if I keep being obedient, faithful, hard working, and happy.
So transfers was on Wednesday and I drove down to Columbia with Coach Dave to pick up my new companion. At transfers I got to see literally everyone that I was at the MTC with. It was really cool to see how they've all already changed so much but still see how they were the exact same from when we all went our separate ways too. I also got to meet my new companion, Elder Lavulo. He's from LA, mostly Long Beach I think he said. His family is from Tonga and one thing I learned at BYU-Hawaii is how much I liked most of the Samoan and Tongan people I met. E. Lavulo is so awesome too. He and I already get along super well. He's a super fun guy and he works really really hard. I can tell he's going to work my butt off when I'm tired and that's exactly what I asked for in my prayers this past month. I've been wanting to work really hard lately and it was hard to do that with Elder Welty going home and being with the ZL's for a week. Elder Welty was a hard worker but he was ready to go home at the end of the transfer.
Elder Lavulo and I have been contacting like crazy, and we've been extremely blessed by Heavenly Father in the short time that we've been together already. Since Wednesday, we've found 13 people that we talked to for awhile, and set up a return appointment with, we found 6 new investigators that we've already taught lessons to and left commitments with, and we have one of them on date already. We put Danny Martin on date for the 14th of June. We met him on the street on Saturday and taught him the Restoration on Sunday and dang was he ready to hear what we had to say. He knew so much about the Bible and about the simple doctrine we teach at church all the time, and when I told him about the First Vision the Spirit hit him like a truck and the room was silent for a few seconds and he went "Oh dats goooooodd". It was one of the best lessons ever.
We even had someone at church on Sunday too for once! We met a guy named Dago (Dog-O) on the street and he wanted to come to church. So we had Bro. Andersen pick him up and he came and wants to come every Sunday. We're seeing him tomorrow too. In Priesthood he got up and introduced himself and told everyone how much he liked church so far and how much he learned and how excited he was to read the Book of Mormon. He's got some sick dreads too.
Elder Lavulo and I are seeing a lot of success already and I'm so thankful for the answers I've been getting to my prayers lately. It's been really hard lately and I knew that if I just waited a little longer that I would be able to have some success, and now I have more than I even thought I could get so far. We'll have to see how all these people turn out in the next coming weeks, but I know that it's mostly going to turn out great.
I hope you all had an awesome week too. Crazy stuff happens when you're persistent and diligent. I'm busy as ever now and life just keeps getting better. It just shows how real missionary work is and I know for a fact that the things I teach are absolutely true and that they can help anyone in life, even me.
Love,
Elder Sean Bills
