This week went pretty well! We were able to have some success with a lady in our ward that's coming back to church. She got her patriarchal blessing yesterday! She has been really excited for it and it's exactly what she needed in her life at this time. She is trying to get to the temple soon and so we are excited at her spiritual progression and she has been so much happier since! It's always great to see someone who makes a big change in their life despite all of the adversity they face. The blessings that come from it are always amazing.
Bubba is still working on getting the Aaronic priesthood. He's come to church every week since Parker was baptized. When we have the sacrament, he recites the prayer with the priests because he wanted to memorize it. He's been doing awesome! I have always admired him for his effort to get to church. He has some support from his family, but it's always been up to him to come and he's always made the choice!
We started working with a guy named Eric. He lives way up at the top of the ward boundaries up by Lake Wateree. He's been a member for a long time and he's been wanting to attend church more and progress too. We went up there with Irvin on Tuesday and we were able to get to know him really well and to talk about starting over the missionary lessons with him.
It's been getting pretty cold over here which is fine with me! I've been looking forward to it for a long time, especially since we had to bike everyday back in the summer out here! We had our zone meeting and they announced that there's some special broadcast for the missionaries in our region on the 20th, so we'll be heading up to the West Columbia Stake Center to watch that. It'll be nice to drive close to Lexington again!
One funny thing that happened this week was when I was on exchanges with Elder Robinson in Blythewood. We had a ride with a member who is waiting to go back out on his mission because of a medical problem he had, and we were parked on a street. There were a few teenagers in a car talking and Elder Robinson dared me to teach a lesson from the car. I didn't think it would go well so I changed it up a little bit. Instead I rolled down the window, pulled out a stack of pass along cards I had, and asked "Do any of y'all want a free picture of Jesus?" (Usually people are fine with it) and they went "NO!" And gave me one of the meanest stares I've ever gotten on my mission.... I was kind of surprised they didn't want one and I didn't know what to say and so I just said "Okay..." And rolled up the window. Hahahah
At least I tried!! I didn't realize that it probably seemed really creepy doing that from the car at the time, but oh well!
Anyway, I feel like that this week was pretty normal and successful. Nothing too crazy happened luckily! I don't want anything insane to happen so that I can actually make it home in one piece!
Time is flying by I can't believe I only have a few weeks left!
We took a zone picture at our ZTM on Friday. I'll be going on exchanges with the Zone Leaders on Wednesday, so I'm super stoked to go on an exchange with my MTC companion Elder Rodriguez!!!!
We're also going gold panning with the Adams for Pday so I'll let you know of I hit the jackpot! Hahaha
Hope y'all have a great week! Love you!
